As Cybersecurity Awareness Month wraps up, SBS CyberSecurity President Jon Waldman appeared on Dakota News Now to share simple, effective ways individuals can protect their personal information online.

In his interview, Waldman emphasized the growing impact of cybercrime.
"Cybersecurity cost American citizens $12.1 billion in 2024. Here in South Dakota, it was about $24 million, just for South Dakotans. So it's a pretty big deal," he said.
Waldman also offered practical advice to help people establish stronger online habits.
"Cybersecurity is really just thinking about how to be safe online," he explained. "Implementing things like a password manager, as an example, is a really good way to even just get started in the world of cybersecurity."
During the interview, Waldman highlighted SBS's Security Awareness Toolkit, which provides ready-to-go resources for organizations and their customers.
The segment was also featured on MSN, expanding the reach of this important message about keeping sensitive information secure.
For organizations looking to continue promoting online safety, SBS offers a collection of additional Cybersecurity Awareness Month resources and informative blogs to help engage employees and stakeholders.
