FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 13, 2020

SBS CyberSecurity Makes Changes to Their Executive Team

Company continues to invest in strategic cultural initiatives.

Executive Changes:

Chad Knutson has been promoted to president of SBS CyberSecurity, LLC. Chad is a co-founder of SBS and formerly served as president of the SBS Institute, an SBS educational division that focuses on certification programs, webinars, and providing professional speakers on critical cybersecurity topics. He will continue to serve as the chief information security officer.

“Chad is a foundational member of the SBS team and is well-equipped to take on this expanded leadership role. His level of technical expertise, industry dedication, and drive for innovation paired with a strong belief in cultivating a company that fosters integrity and a family-friendly environment will drive the growth of SBS from both a technical and a cultural perspective,” said Aaron Gamewell, CEO of SBS CyberSecurity.

Jon Waldman has been promoted to president of the SBS Institute. Waldman is a co-founder of SBS and serves as the executive vice president of information security consulting. Jon has helped financial institutions across the country create and implement comprehensive, valuable, and manageable information security programs. He also conducts webinars, certification programs and is the lead professional speaker for the SBS Institute.

Aaron Gamewell will continue to serve as CEO and the chairman of the board for SBS CyberSecurity. Gamewell joined SBS in December of 2015 and has created a world-class team of professionals that have a passion for cybersecurity, remarkable compassion for their team members, and a lasting desire to be successful. In his time at the helm of the company, Aaron has led SBS to double its revenue, consistently making new innovations to its products and services.

Departures:

On December 31, 2019, Aaron Gamewell purchased all remaining shares owned by Kevin Streff and Jody Streff. Kevin Streff had not been involved in any operational capacity since July 31, 2018.

Cultural Investments:

“The growth experienced by SBS can only be attributed to one thing: the quality of our team of people,” said Chad Knutson, president of SBS CyberSecurity. "We have worked hard to hire the right talent for our culture, develop our talent with training programs and coaching, and encourage each team member to inspire our cultural beliefs in each other. Our team demonstrates the highest levels of passion in their responsibilities, clear compassion for each other as we work as a team, and a tremendous desire to be successful. Every leader in our company believes our people are the most valuable asset to our company and that if we provide the best for our people, they will take the best care of our clients.”

To further support the investment in its people and company culture, SBS hired Honey Shelton as chief strategy officer in August of 2020. In that role, Honey will develop, communicate, execute, and sustain corporate strategic initiatives.

Prior to joining the SBS team, she was the founder and president of InterAction Training, where she was recognized as an expert trainer and one of the nation’s best speakers. Honey brings more than 30 years of experience in training and quality improvement to the SBS team. She is a graduate of the School of Bank Marketing from the University of Colorado, and has been a faculty member for banking schools around the country. She is also certified in Reality Therapy by the William Glasser Institute and Training and Development from Texas A&M.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Honey join the SBS team,” Knutson said. “She brings a level of expertise in team building, communication, personal development and strategic planning that is unmatched. Her support and guidance will help the SBS team reach the goals we have set toward professional excellence on both company-wide and individual levels.”

SBS has also added Maarten Cappaert to the team as the project support specialist, where he will work with the chief strategic officer to identify strategic tasks needed to complete special projects. Prior to joining SBS, Maarten was the vice president at InterAction Training. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Front-End Web Development. He also received an Excellence Award for consistently demonstrating leadership skills and the ability and willingness to help others, and for showing exemplary critical thinking and conceptual and analytical design.

“Maarten’s enthusiasm, critical thinking, and work ethic are a perfect fit. We look forward to the fresh ideas and leadership Maarten will bring to SBS,” Knutson said.
