JonWaldmansquare1MADISON, S.D., Jan. 7, 2025 — SBS CyberSecurity, a leading provider of advanced cybersecurity solutions with more than 20 years of banking industry experience, announces its membership in the Bankers Helping Bankers (BHB) Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) Association. This partnership highlights SBS’s commitment to strengthening security frameworks within the rapidly evolving financial technology sector.

As a recognized innovator in cybersecurity, SBS brings its risk management and regulatory compliance expertise to the BaaS Association’s collaborative efforts. SBS will contribute to initiatives that address emerging cyber threats and set new industry benchmarks for secure digital banking solutions.

As a member of the BaaS Association, SBS CyberSecurity looks forward to:

  • Sharing cybersecurity best practices among BaaS institutions, stakeholders, and fintech partners.
  • Establishing and promoting robust cybersecurity standards for BaaS operations and fintech partners.
  • Engaging with and updating the community on cybersecurity developments.
  • Advocating for responsible and secure BaaS services and products with policymakers.

"Joining the BaaS Association underscores our commitment to enhancing cybersecurity within the banking industry as a whole but specifically for those institutions that are exploring the BaaS space," said Jon Waldman, president of SBS CyberSecurity. "Our extensive banking cybersecurity experience uniquely positions us to support BaaS institutions as they work hard to protect their networks from cyberattacks and understand the cybersecurity posture and risk of their fintech partners. As we’ve done for 20 years, we aim to help our clients understand cybersecurity risk on all fronts and make empowered decisions to mitigate that risk, no matter where the risk comes from. That might mean updating technology risk assessments for BaaS operations, performing extra vendor management around fintech partnerships, or even testing APIs to ensure they’re secure."

Founded in 2022, the BaaS Association promotes collaboration among financial institutions and technology providers to foster innovation and build trust within the banking services ecosystem. The BaaS Association represents more than 80% of current BaaS sponsor banks operating across the United States. Through education, collaboration, and advocacy, the association empowers BaaS banks to deliver responsible and compliant services while developing strong partnerships with fintech innovators. By aligning with this mission, SBS will support industrywide efforts to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with strict global standards.

"Our goal is to address some of the challenges BaaS banks and fintechs face around awareness, industry standards, and new technology as it emerges," said Dave Mayo, BaaS Association co-founder.
